Anything I can do besides park it?
My DIC shows "service ABS brakes", "service active handling" and "service traction control". Used to get this once a month or so, now getting on most cold starts. The code is C1243, ABS pump motor stalled. Brandon at ABS fixer said 90% of the time the C1243 code is the fault of the EBCM, which we all know is not available.
When I get these warnings in the DIC the ABS and traction control warning lights come, which is the main problem. I am fine driving the car without ABS, but not without an inspection sticker. In Maine you cannot get a sticker with the ABS light on.
I would really appreciate any help.
I know he can do 2003 C 5's maybe he can do the earlier ones now.
He resolders the modules them and gives a lifetime warranty.
You can drive the car with this module l off as I did It costs about $150 plus shipping
Jacked the car up this morning and did the ABS exercise thing, the first 3 times I did it I could not feel the ABS engage ans got the "service ABS" code in the DIC, then I could feel the ABS working and got "ABS engaged" in the DIC. Did this several more times and all seems good!
8vette7, it is guys like you that make this forum great! Can't thank you enough for you help.
