[Z06] 02 Z clutch issue
It's currently in storage since I'm stationed overseas but I'll be back in December and want to sort this issue if I can.
While I was home with it for two months I noticed that when I floor it, usually in first gear, the clutch pedal rises and gets stiff. I'm not sure how to explain it but its kind of like flooring the gas pedal is forcing the clutch up. It's weird. Feels nothing like when I'm driving normally.
Once I press it though I have no pressure for a few seconds and I have to pump it a few times to get it back to normal. I'm thinking a new MC but supposedly it has a new one along with slave and clutch/flywheel prior to purchase.
It sucks trying to figure this out from Italy but I wont have much time while I'm on leave so I'm looking around now. I couldn't find any similar topics with the whole flooring gas pedal raising clutch so I'm looking for some help. Thanks in advance.
you'll find tons
short story is you can try the ranger method on your clutch fluid. after 10-15 changes it usually gets better
or
you can bleed the clutch but this takes a little more effort.
if none of this works you will be using the clutch as is until you do a replacement. not sure if the springs get weak in the plate or if it's purey a hydro issue but they seem to get worse with age. i remember driving a z06 back in 2002 and the clutch functioned just fine

A true thanks to you racebum. I'll try searching those terms. None of the ones I found previously related directly to acceleration. I'll try WOT like onspeed replied also.
