We took a drive on the Angeles Crest Highway yesterday. We had the top off for only the second time this year. We went up to Mt. Wilson and made a pit stop. I keep a yellow microfiber cloth towel across the console to rest my arm on. When I came out of the restroom there was a raven in my car. It took off as I got close to the car with the towel in his talons. When the wife came out I had the Bushnell's out watching the raven as it flew down the hill about a 1/2 mile. We watched it go from tree to tree like it was showing off a prize. There was no food in the car and the door windows up so I can only guess that the towel was what lured it into the car. I didn't know what it was until it jump up and out of the car and began to fly away.
Who knows? He may have been looking for a yellow towel all of his life.
Oh yeah, it was a great day for a drive and most of the road has been repaired and resurfaced so it was nice and sticky if you know what I mean. If you are in the area it is a fun road to travel.
We took a motorcycle trip to Yellowstone Nat'l Park a couple of years ago. The other couple with us had a storage pouch on the inside of his windshield. When we came back to where we were parked at the Old faithful Gyser, a Raven was standing on the fuel tank and was taking all the papers out of the pouch and slinging them on the ground. I don't know how he managed to open the pouch. The pouch had the **** that had to be rotated to open but he did.
