8th Vette and first vert. I will never have another hardtop. I am 73 and love the vert. Noise is nothing with top up and Michelin non run flats on it. Keep in mind that the C5 was engineered and built to be a roadster. I see no cowl shake and it is tight and squeak and rattle free. I think, and just MHO, that the vert is much more eye appealing than the coupe. I get looks and comments everywhere --- good for an old guy. Love to take it to Sonic, top down. Got to impress the girls somehow.

OK, now that is a useful feature. They shoulda fixed it so the BCM would not "tell" the windows to lower, if both doors are open. Or has somebody already hacked up a fix for that?

What they (GM) are suggesting is that a real man doesn't leave the windows up while the top is down. That's why they go down when the cover is raised. The windows up thing when the top is down is for the Miata drivers.
Thanks again everyone for all of the replies. I've learned a lot from them. Now if I can just find a nice clean roadster in a color I can live with I'll be good to go.
My neighbor has a very nice 2001 silver with black top and interior, very nice wheels, 6 speed, Z06 exhaust for sale. It already has the CAGS bypass, oil sensor relocation and column lock bypass done. Here's a link if you're interested. It's near Charlotte, NC.

It's getting cool here in autumn, and the last few times we have been out for a ride with top down my wife always puts up the window. It does reduce turbulence and makes her feel warmer. Doesn't look as nice though.
To the OP, I've found that with the top up you cannot hear the stock exhaust and on highway it is MUCH quieter than the coupe I drove with Magnaflow exhaust. That droned so bad 5 minutes is all I could take. With the vert and top down, you can clearly hear the exhaust notes. Much more pleasant. I don't use the radio much with top down since I like listening to the exhaust. I imagine with a Corsa it is fabulous.

I'm not referring to driving with top down/windows up. I'm talking about after you park & raise the roof. Thanks for the tip about how to be a real man, though.
That window valet thing sounds like just what I need.

Not real sure what you mean by the windows to lower if doors open .. as far as I know the only time the windows automatically lower is when the hatch is opened to lower the top. If you raise the windows with the top down and open the doors they stay up.
