What does it take to charge out junky stock stereo? Should I keep Bose speakers, or buy new? I obviously want to get out cheap as possible but get better sound, and Pandora hookup.
Get rid of all of it. CF Audio forum is your friend, those guys are great help. I went with the single din Kenwood HU, Pioneer speakers and the new Kenwood mini sub woofer. I have Parrot Bluetooth and iPod connection in my console. I didn't use the adaptor some use for wiring, I just bought the GMRAP and used the data wire. That way I still have RAP. If you need anymore info send me a PM.

I agree. Ain't none of it worth keeping. Everything aftermarket is way better and amazingly affordable if you do it yourself. Search on my userid for a complete system build. Also... there are so many head units now that have complete blue tooth support there's no need for Parrot.
Y'obviously have enough of an acoustic standard to wanna dump the Blose HU; don't cheap out and hang on to the main culprits--their speakers. Trash the whole set up.
Whatever you choose in the aftermarket, for whatever it costs, you'll never remember the pain of the price next to the improvement. Bose ain't called "Blose" for nuthin'. Just like any home system, the quality of the sound is determined mainly by the choice of speakers, then the units that drive them, and Bose ain't it.
"No clear highs, no clear lows... it must be Bose."
you can make the stock deck sound pretty good if you do it right. they make a PAC rca adapter that allows you to run an aftermarket amplifier. do that and use a real pre amp, clarion makes a nice low cost one for $60. add in some nice components and a small sub and you can have an OEM dash and a great sounding system.
aftermarket decks just kill the aesthetics of the dash
Hard to make music sound great without a good sound stage, and a stock Z in a horrible sound stage. Rip out the interior and carpet and install a proper layer of sound and heat deadeners. The Trunk is the biggest culprit, but its best to do it all. You end up with a much better sound stage that you can actually hear the softer spots in your tunes.
