I have both a digital and an old cave man Craftsman torque wrench. After dozens of engine rebuilds I prefer the old Craftsman and never use the high tech expensive one that sits in the tool box. I sometimes wonder if it still works or need a battery change.

 

I didn't realize the max of this tool was 150 ft/lb.

 

I have one and it works great for torquing wheels at the track. Any other time, it is almost useless as it is so big. I like the green, yellow, red light set up though. As much as I torque my wheels, it is a good investment for me.

What kind of batteries are used and what is the current draw in milliamps when the wrench is in the auto off state?

 

The wrench uses 3 AA Batteries. I will have to check into the current draw for you.

in the off state I just had to replace the batteries after 1 year of non / infrequent use. Way cheaper and easier than replacing watch batteries.
