Just bought my first C5 in June. 97 87k miles 6sp. I'm still in the love/hate point in our relationship. I love the car cause I have always wanted one. One of the most beautiful Vettes ever built in my opinion. The previous owners had evidently just driven it so now I am working my way through the C5 common issues list. Broken seat, headlight gears, torque tube grommets, clutch, drive line vibrations, and various other little things. I am hoping once I get them all worked out it will be good for another 80k. I'm trying to be positive as I think I got a really good deal on it that it will be worth it in years to come. Time will tell.
I liked my 2001 convertible (sold to buy a 68 Coupe) so much, that I bought another C5 - just a faster version. I bought this over a C6 because I think it is simply a better looking car - long live the C5!
Love is an understatement...I am totally obsessed with my '99 C5 Vert, Completely redone in Mellenium Yellow. She used to be a triple black car. but the original paint looked kinda sad, so I redid it in a desert friendly color. No dust, No Swirls, No hot in the summer color to deal with. Never gonna part with it, My daughter gets it when I'm gone off this earth. She's got 165,xxx and counting and still runs great, she just got a new stage two carbon/Kevlar clutch put in also. I go to almost every car show I can with her and cruise-in's too. I will never be finished adding stuff I like to her and making her look better than she already is. Like I said...It's an ""OBSESSION"" Here she is, before and after pic's. The guy in the 5th pic with me is Dave Kindig from Bitchin Rides on T.V. He was at our local car show here in Lancaster CA. this last summer....Enjoy.
Before, when I first bought her back in May 2013

Love it? Oh yeah. It's only been mine for a couple weeks, so we're still in the honeymoon phase. But I have no plans on ever trading up, giving it up, or time's up on it, or any of that.
There are 7 days in a week... and seven generations of corvette. Coincidence? Nah.
That would make my c5 my Thursday car, eventually I hope.
It's roomy, fast, stylish, and a heck of a lot of fun. Best corvette bang for the buck, I think. I do like the 7's a lot, but the lines on the early 3's are a bit better to me.
Best looking vette ever in my opinion though is the 67 big block coupe. That one's hard to beat.
I prefer black over yellow as well, but I really appreciate the guy's passion, the work he has done to transform his C5 with yellow, and his plan to pass the car on to his daughter. The car looks fantastic!

I'm like a moth to a flame for a '67 big block 4spd coupe, hands down my all time favorite. C5's come in second only to those bad boys! The noise off those side pipes, windows down, just pure music! Take care!
