Ya I didn't really like the way it sat on the nose either. So I am working on trying to conform it more to the contour of the nose. I think I almost have it to be acceptable and will look good. I will post my findings in a couple days for y'all. I won't have a day off to see if it will work until Wednesday. Just so you know it is possible to get a contour on it without cracking or breaking anything on the emblem. It doesn't need much.

I haven't installed mine yet. I was waiting until later to install them. However, I'm interested in knowing what will need to be done for the front emblem. I know the emblem for the front is the same for the back for the original emblem. Since it is plastic it's easier to bend and shape to the front bumper.

I'm interested in what is done to "form" it to the front bumper.

Is it plastic or pot metal?

I was going to try and heat it with a hair dryer rather than a torch and try to form it around something round - - you probably only need 1/8 nch . . .

It isn't plastic. It's a metal of some kind. My guess is putting it in a vise (covered and protected) and slightly bend it from the middle. I may put my emblems on earlier than I want too. Just so that we can get some resolution of the front emblem.

They are made from aluminum plate, not cast, and are almost 1/4 thick. I thought about bending mine, but the bend is so slight, it didn't make a difference. Just peel and stick and call it a day!

Some of you guys are so damn **** retentive about the bend, stop worrying about it! If it is that important for you to have the perfect bend, just leave the stock one on!

I did stick it on and despite the surface prep, one side keeps popping off and is raised nearly 1/4 in . . . there is a natural bend- at least on my car- and it absolutely doesn't mount flat . . .I'm not being weird about this- it's simply not conformed to the line of the car . .

I love the quality - - just need a correct fit.

Mine have about 1/8" gap at the tips and not enough contact area to ensure a permanent application. May just fill the gap space with emblem adhesive. I gave bending a shot, but I was putting so much pressure with no result, I didn't want to snap the piece.

Sheet metal hand bender would do it! I'm sure a local shop would do it for pennies!

No, a metal fab shop! Body shop most likely wouldn't have one.

Okay, here's what I wound up doing with mine. I have access to a roller at work so I put it through that. It actually worked pretty well. I sandwiched the emblem between two thin pieces of sheet aluminum to help protect it. Worked out well and it didn't get damaged. I rolled it a little bit to much so I used a small press to straighten it out a little bit. Overall I think it worked out pretty good. To make it perfect though I think it would have to be manipulated from all directions or made from the factory to fit the contour of the bumper. It sticks up just a bit on the top and the bottom but I can live with it. I think it came out just fine and shouldn't be going anywhere. I only used the double sided tape behind the flags but I think if I would have put some on the flag staffs it would stick down a little better. Might wind up doing that to see if it would hold it down or not. Maybe a better machinist would be able to get it better but a machinist I'm not so this is what I am happy with for free.

FYI: The flags are being replaced so don't mind the one sticking up.

That looks good! Since the OEM emblem is plastic it will conform to the front bumper without any manipulation. These chrome versions look like they will need to manipulated. However, I'm going to see what mine look like this weekend. I'll report what I do to make it work.

Can someone pm me the info please?

I have mine off right now while painting the hood and think these would be a good option for me.

I don't know if I want to put one on the rear deck because there are no holes from the original. Could I get two front ones instead of the pair of front and back?

Both emblems are the same for the front and rear. No holes for either since they are mounted with double sided tape. I will PM you the info.

Ya I can give it a whirl for ya. No guarantees though. I do have an extra emblem just in case something should go wrong. I will have to look for it though. Can't remember where I put it at the moment. I will pm you my address.

Has anyone come up with a better way of doing this bend? Just curious.
