The C5 is a great car, but you will miss driving a C4, as it is totally different from a C5. You will buy a C4 to go along with the C5.
I sold my 1991 to get my 2002 Z06. I then bought a 1992 to go along with the 2002. Enjoy the C5 and good luck in finding a nice C4 to go along with it.

I do miss my C4 cause i was so used to climbing down in it and feeling like i was in a race car cause it wraps around you so well. I probably will end up getting another C4 later on.
Congratulations on a fine looking C5 and welcome. I always liked the C4 but never owned one. Had a C3 for 10 years and sometimes miss it, maybe it was my youth I miss, lol. Well onward and upward. Greetings. Rob ps How about posting a pic of your C4?

i was over run with joy when i sold my 1990. car was a POS even after 20k in mods. there are so many problems with the c4 setup i could write a very long winded post. the rear suspension geometry lends itself to snap oversteer. even with different spring rates and koni adjustables it merely gets better. i always had to run a much softer rear compound to keep the car stable at speed. you have to replace the bushings with poly if you want the ujoints to live, there aren't many clutch options for the zf6, the chassis twists under load, body parts and random panels are nearly impossible to source unless you find used and this was 10 years ago. parts are expensive. a miniram was something like $1200 which was absolutely necessary if you wanted to make over 280whp or so. line of sight sucks with the long hood, makes knowing where your tires are much more of a challenge if you get off being able to drive a 1" line at track speeds
on the plus side the seats are much better than the c5 and the clutch didn't stick to the floor
i just upgraded from a 4 to a 5 too! also found a real clean 98. and the 4 was a great car, but this 5 is pretty dam awesome.... overall im enjoying the upgrade.
I went from a 1992 6spd to a 2002 Z06. I loved my C4, but I never really look back. The C5 Z06 is one of the best ever made. It still holds its own today...and then modded...fuggetaboutit...
Bought it stock...then modded it a bit...wheels, suspension, exhaust, etc.
Then bought this (basic bolt ons)
And it now looks like this (580whp/512wtq, lots more of everything)
I had max enjoyment from my C4 for a long time, and many miles.
But, when I stepped up to C5, a whole new world of fun and excitement opened up, for me. I love my C5, a lot! Driving this car, is a hoot !!!
Hope you get the same fun and thrills from your C5.
I have had a C3 and a C4. The C3 was a real toy and the C4 was a D\D. I loved both of them, but at 6'6" 245 these 44 year old knees started hurting to bad getting in and out of it.. My 14 year old is already 6' so he and I sitting in the cars were tight fits!!

That is one thing I miss about my 4 too. The C7 feels like that.
Congrats on the new Vette
