Upon return to my home after an absence of 3 months, took the cover off the corvette, started and had a series of warning messages, ABS, etc. I took the car to mechanic and he first checked the cable connections, not the problem. He then told me he would send the module off to get it rebuilt. Received back after 5 days, reinstalled, still not the problem.
My question, can the module be checked after repair as to whether they were successful in rebuilding?
if it is a 2000 or older it cannot be rebuilt. A lot of these cars throw all kinds of codes when the battery has been unhooked for a while. you have to clear the codes and then see what comes back.
I would demand a copy of the 'repair' bill, since they (1998-2000 EBCMs)can not be repaired. Yeah I know there are a few here that have undertaken the project, but if they were really successful at it, it would be headline news.
It would be helpful if you post the codes you are getting from the unit. A LOT of people have had similar problems with their cars and their are fixes. The codes will narrow down the problem so that you can be directed correctly.
