On the way home from work, I swerved to miss this beast in the middle of the road. Unfortunately, the silver mustang behind me took it out. With all the new homes being built in my subdivision, the locals are being disturbed.
Still enough left for a nice hat band, or something creative. I've never skinned a snake, but that would be my approach, snakeskin keychains for everyone.
I once had a guy try to sell me a snakeskin that he had coiled up around a thick stick. When he unrolled it , it was over 50 feet long , we all agreed. Guy had a lot of other stuff, this was way up the Congo river, and poverty needs money. This stuff is completely illegal, impossible to bring into the states, but it was the longest snake I had ever seen, or rather what was left of it.

I know. We did the same thing with cobras when I was on Mindanao. Tasty, but a bit chewy - more like dark meat.

Well, snakes, all of them, DO serve a purpose after all.
I look at it this way, if they're not directly bothering/threatening me, and I can continue on my way, I do so. On the other hand, well, you know.......
