Seems I read a post a while back where someone was saying they were getting really good insurance rates insuring there C5 as a Collector car or something? My 99 is currently bunched in with our other 2 cars and I feel I am paying too much. I put approx 5k - 7k miles on the car a year and I have full coverage and it is in with our other 2 cars and I'm paying around $380 every 6 months. There is no agreed value or no mileage restrictions.
Seems there was a "specialty" car insurance company like Hemmings or something like that that was way cheaper??
Anyone have any info that would point me to cheaper coverage?
Check with the Corvette Museum for insurance. I have my 04 insured there for a agreed upon value and no deductible for a very reasonable amount. You must have a garage or other secured building to keep it in. They are about one half what I was paying with Am Fam with high deductibles.

Reason: Oh, the agreed on price is $26k with no deductible on com or collision. $406 for 12 months.
Damnnn $380 every 6 months?? Thats good haha...if it makes u feel better I pay $320 a month full coverage and thats with some no name insurance company because all the other companys wanted $350-$500 a month..it blows because im only plan on putting 200-300 miles a month on it.
Im 28 married with 2 speeding and one accident that was my fault.

sorry op didn't mean to hi jack your thread but you should definitely check out CMI..Im going from $3,900 a year to $800.00 thats a big difference

That's why, and I'm not referring to the married part. When it comes to performance cars, insurance companies have no problem with someone who has the less than one event every three years. Get two tickets and all the antenna are up, add an accident, especially your fault and you get kicked into the high risk category. You need to find a way to chill for a couple of years to clean those records out. Last I checked tickets lasted 3 years, then fall off your record. But then, the last time I got a ticket was in 2004, speeding with an Oldsmobile rental car, how embarrising is that!

oh yea most definitely im chilling out. .I dont useally speed..most of my speeding tickets come from when I travel around the state for work..louisiana hwys are crazy one 1/4 mile section will have a posted 70mph speed limit and then BAM it changes over to 45mph with a state trooper sitting there with his radar. .

I'm with Electric Insurance (a company owned by GE) and have full coverage with $100 comp and $500 collision deductibles. My cost is right at $400 per year. No tickets, no accidents.
Canadian perspective----$1350.00 annually with high deductibles for a 45 year old male with married with kids!! That's on top of the other two cars and home insurance with same company. Total insurance bill---$ 6000.00/year bananas!!!:ack :
To be honest, I'm not working now, so car is parked in garage and no insurance.
However, I was getting state farm 0 comp and 500 collision, with full coverage, 70 a month, 36 years old divorced, clean driving record, save 20 a month having my truck on there multi car discount.
