Hood latch issues or hood alignment?
Well I just got a killer deal on a VIS carbon cowl hood 
, but I'm having an issue getting the drivers side latch to engage fully 
The passenger side closes tightly and easily, but I cannot seem to get the drivers side to sit down securely in the latch! The hood IS closed, but there seems to be up and down play in the hood on that side (not seems, IS), though it doesn't move at speed at all.
I have adjusted the latch up and down by the minuscule amount the factory builds in for fine tuning, I have cleaned and lubricated the mechanism as well with no luck. I will try to do some more aligning tomorrow as the gap on the drivers side IS a bit off for my liking (though no one else would notice).
My factory hood latched perfectly, so I'm thinking this has to be an issue with my installation, how finicky is the latching system on these cars? There is no damage to the hood on the top or bottom side, and the hood is not contacting anything that would cause the issue.
Any suggestions or similar personal experiences would be greatly appreciated, as I'm getting pretty frustrated at this point!

I have adjusted that to the point that it does not contact the hood even when I fully depress it with my hands, and it seems to make no difference in engagement. Thanks for the suggestion!
