try tirerack.com good tires at good prices. at check out you put in ur zip code and it will show you a list of garages and tire shops that will mount and install the new tires. if even shows the charges.
First off, fill in your profile . . I think the tire recommendation is in good measure determined by where you live . . .huge difference between NJ . . . Oregon and Arizona . . .
Secondly, run flats will run double the cost of non-runflats . . . a risk management decision or AAA investment.
I've generally bought from Discount Tire . . . they also have a web version like Tire Rack -(Discounttiredirect.com) - just a matter of figuring out what you wnat and find the best price.
You can also use the seearch feature on the right of the C5 general page and see other forum members thoughts by putting in the tire brand.
Just depends on how much of a factor budget is your budget. The RE760 is a good tire at its price range. The V12 is also a good choice in that price range. There are improvements at each additional $200-$250 that you are willing to go. How much power do you have? What kind of driving do you do? What are the driving conditions where you are located?
I have the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 (4) - $802 on my C5 Z06. I think they work great for street driving. I've autocross a few times with them and there very predictable. If you like racing around, then I would look for something in the 100 treadwear rating.
760 works for street driving, average in the dry, average in the wet. below average feedback. poor communication of the limits and just really not a fast tire. as long as you stay within its grip it behaves like any other average tire. they are a handful to correct over 80mph. compared to a modern street tire like the pss they feel like balloons with no grip
problem is you only have 3 choices for stock z06 wheels if you want oem size
1. ps2
2. supercar
3. re760
the ps2 is the best of the bunch but the rears are only available in the N4 compound which may scare some people away. rumor has it they have more grip than the fronts.
best bet is to put the oe z06 wheels on the shelf and run 295 30 19 and 265 35 18 in the new michelin pss.
if you had to choose one of those 3, my choice would be the ps2 first and goodyear last. goodyears aren't much better in the dry than the re760 and they cost 2x as much and don't live as long. the supercars were pretty good from the day you bought them till.. oh i don't know, 6 months maybe, max. after a year traction fell off the cliff and they were burn out machines that slid
Very pleased here with the Continental ExtremeContact DWS i just put on mine.
It's a base Coupe but I put Z06 size rims on it.
I have the Extreme Contact DW, a summer high performance version in Z06 sizes - great tires and good in the rain. I have no experience with the DWS, which is an all-season tire.

that's not even possible anymore. conti discontinued the 265 40 17 dw in the states if not world wide in 2011

I run this combo "pilot sports in oem size" and have been very pleased with it for over a year and 10k miles. When I get back from Afghanistan, I will try to squeeze a 315 ps in the rear.
