Default coolent reservior

I have a 98 vette jsut got it over the summer, I had the hood up just checking the oil, when I noticed the reservor for the coolent is loose. After inspection, it looks like the holes have either worn out/ boken off so the is nothing for the bolts grab. I was wondering if anyone else has run across this problem.

The reservior is been held in place by the hoses and with the hood down, I dont this this going anywhere, but it still needs to be secured.

Any ideas?

Had that on mine last year and it started leaking coolant. I just replaced the whole unit I think it was about 50 or 60 bucks.

Just get a new surge tank and bolt it on. Problem solved and should be good to go for many years.

The fasteners are studs with retainers that protrude through the inner fender, which is made from SMC. The Inner fender may be chipped or the retainers came off allowing the studs to fall out. That could only occur if the nuts at the tank were removed though, so sounds a little odd. If you can't find the correct fasteners, I'm sure a regular machine screw and locknut and washer would work. You have remove the wheel/tire and reach in, should be easy to find. There are 3, 2 on top, 1 on the bottom rear pointing towards the fuse box.

Misread your question...nevermind.
