Just wanted to express how much fun I'm having with my "new" C5. I did some quick math, and the last Corvette I owned was 35 years ago. I've long wanted another, but I'm sure many of you can understand how life gets in the way. I nearly bought a brand new C6 a couple of years ago, but opted for a more sensible CTS-V. With 550+ HP it was loads of fun, but didn't satisfy the itch. So the Caddy was traded for a Lexus SUV, and last week I found a clean 2003 with 50k miles and tons of options. And just because I'm a bit ****, the plugs and wires were changed, transmission and diff serviced, and a set of Hankook V12's ordered. I guess there really is something to this mid-life crisis nonsense after all.

Congrats on your '03 and welcome to the forum. Just be careful hanging around here - you'll see so many things being done to the cars that you'll end up coming down with mod fever.
Sounds like you are right on with the plugs and stuff, not overdoing it at all. I also attended to those items on my used purchase of last year, save for the tires and tranny. THe diff just had the fluid changed before the sale, and that never hurts.
I reinforce my assertion by repeating what a guy with a bucks up restomod C1/5 told me when I asked about things of concern with the LS1. He said plug, wires, and coils are about the only thing that go bad. He had the kind of car that a corvette magazine would do a couple of pages on. At his level of involvement , I figured he would be a good person to ask.
I was happy to have my obvious car care decisions validated by the guy, and this does the same for your choices.
You are more honest than myself, I would have hidden my shame about buying a caddie. If you ever see me again in a four door car, or some kind of luxo yank tank, it's a loner.
