So ya I joined the flying roof club the other day.... I was playing around with a motorcycle on the interstate and the lid separated from the frame at 120mph. Went back the next day and got the lid. It has scratches on the top but other than that no real devastating damage. My question is can I re-glue the lid to the frame? If so what do I use to remove the old glue and what glue should I use to re glue it?
I have tried looking around and I can not find any of the info I want. Just people who forgot to latch the darn thing and it flying off. lol
I admit I have forgotten to latch the back center latch a few times, but never the fronts.
any help would be great, as of now I am a 100% vert until I get this fixed.
I thought about a used top, but I think I could run into some of the same issues. I would rather brand new or attempt to re glue the top to the frame before I go brand new.
I am just glad no one got hit by it when it flew off. I was in minor traffic racing a motorcycle.

That just shows that at least two idiots were on the road at that time.
Not to nickpic and sorry you lost your targa top, but you do not have an FRC.
The only a top comes off an FRC is if comes off the frame rails. It will cost you thousands to fix it, but probably means it was rolled.
frc not only means fixed roof coupe.... but its also the flying roof club. for those that forget to latch it down and it blows off. Not sure if mine peeling off counts but that's what it is.
also only a few comments on what I need help with. What type of adhesive should be used to bond plastic to fiber glass.
