Just put up on jacks the 2004 C5 we recently purchased. 12,000 mile car, all original down to the '03 date code F1 tires. Sticker on drivers door has 10/03 date. Older gent we purchased from was original owner who stated several times he did not mod or change anything on the car except for fluids and fresh fuel.
Now the question. The word Titanium is on both mufflers. I thought only ZO6 cars came with Titanium exhaust or am I missing something?
Thanks,
Chas B.
The factory may have had a bunch of left over titanium muflers that they had to use up before the model change. It happened in 96. Regular Vettes got ZR1 rotors and calipers because they had so many parts left over.

The titanium exhaust was only available on the Z06 from the factory so the guy you bought it from must have changed out at least the catback on the car. Not a bad thing though as the Ti exhaust is a good mod.

Not necessarily. Having worked in a factory before I discovered the right parts don't always go on the right product. It could have been a factory error. It has happened before. Sounds like this could possibly be the case since the "older" guy was not into mods and told the new owner he never changed anything. Unless he was getting really forgetful. There also might be a ZO6 out there with the wrong mufflers.

Chas,
The TI exhaust is real good, I ran over 700 RWHP through them for a long time till I went to a full 3" exhaust on my Coupe and 3" Bi-Mode B&B Fusion mufflers!
They are a real good flowing muffler!
Here is how they are designed, I did an autopsy on one of my friends damaged one: He did what some call the bypass on it, not an easy job due to welding Titanium is not easy or many people do not know how to weld it
