I purchased a Corsa pacecar exhaust and a MAM car cover from jasonboyer45 on 11/16/13 (exhaust) and 11/22/13 (car cover) for a total of $765 (not counting the paypal fees). In a PM I got from him on 11/21/13 he claimed he had shipped the exhaust on 11/20, but the tracking number provided by UPS didn't work. Whether or not he had the correct tracking number I would have been notified by UPS the moment an item is entered as being shipped to my house with regular status reports of where the item is or any delays. I contacted UPS and they have no record of anything coming to me. In a PM I got from him 11/22/13 he claimed he was shipping the car cover on Saturday. I had also been asking him since the beginning of the week to email me the pics of the exhaust he used in the post since he pulled the pics after I bought the item. Still haven't received the pictures. On 11/26/13 I sent him a PM informing him I still had not received the exhaust. I also sent an email to his email associated with his paypal account. I know he got the PM because his last activity was on 11/26 after I sent the PM. I'm starting to fill in the blanks regarding his failure or refusal to respond to my messages and it's not pretty. Anyone else have such dealings with him?
If they ARE NEWBIE... Make them post a picture of their Items with a tag of their user name and the date... At least you know they have the goods then.

Paypal is on the case. I've only been a member since April, but when I sold something I provided detailed pictures and any additional pictures a buyer requested then photo proof of shipping along with tracking numbers. I could be understanding if the guy would be honest and let me know if he hasn't shipped the items yet, but to just completely ignore my messages...makes it look even more suspicious.

Looks like he was a new member this month. That's a big red flag.
I would NEVER buy ANYTHING from a new member.
When I'm checking out an item, one the first things I look for is the number beside his name. If less than 500 then I re-think the transaction. Ill check out his past SELLING history (he could have lots of buying history but no selling) and compare his other sold items price point and the buyers satisfaction. If this was his first 'big ticket' item for sale, I would probably pass. I've bought stuff from people with 150 transactions associated with their account because of their past history and the relatively low item cost ($150 Hero2) and it's not been an issue.
Good luck with your PayPal complaint - hope you get your money back.

I would be getting nervous and suspicious also! I sure hope your get your items or at least get your money back. Anyone who comes on here to take advantage of forum members and their cash should be tied down and water boarded! I'm not saying this is the case; but in the event, my thoughts stand.

I would go ahead and let paypal take care of it. You should have plenty of documentation and hopefully they will help you get your money back or perhaps even light a fire under the seller to get you your stuff.
You can't just assume every newbie on e-bay and paypal is not trustworthy. In the last month or so I just started to become very active on e-bay and even sold something for my wife that was fairly expensive. In the short time I've bought and sold stuff I've accumulated all good, positive feedbacks. You know the saying, innocent until proven guilty.
He got me too!!! Sent him payment on 11/16 and haven't received the parts yet. I messaged him 3 times and he hasn't responded. Filed a claim today with Paypal. My purchase was $125.
