Default Centercap emblem

Has anyone applied any of those C5 stickers or decals to their center caps? I'm planning on a change to my wheels and the centercap will likely be painted. I have already 'customized' them with some judicious application of white, blue and black but I'm unsure if the new paint will fill the indentations beyond my ablilty to 're fill' them. If the sticker type can withstand normal outside abuse on a rotating wheel, I guess I'd be fine, and I don't leave the caps on at the track so that's a non issue.
Thanks

Check out my build thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...6-build-3.html

In the middle of the last page (post #50) you can see what I did. Make sure you put a good coat of clear on top of them to protect them. So far I haven't had any issues and I just drove through slush and snow.

its so nice when senility sets in early this way I have an excuse for not recalling I was following your thread!!
Anyway what type of stickers are everyone using? At 66, I've seen a variety of things called "decals" but to me it means the ones that we used on model cars that were soaked in water. I assume these are all flat, but I wonder if any are reactive to clear coat?

I had a local sign shop make me a set of small C5 logo decals that I put on my centercaps. They have been on there for about 9 months and show no signs of coming off.

I don't have these wheels anymore but I sold them to a friend and they still look very good after 4yrs.
They are the dome ( cyberdine type) shape, came in a package of four and I'm sorry but I can't recall where i got them.

Thanks gang! I'm very impressed and relieved to see so many that have lasted so long! Leaves me with lots of options.
Biomech, what did you print yours on? I'm sure you didn't use a regular inkjet?

I bought a set from a forum vendor at the thread below.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...-sale-l-k.html

They look exactly like the original ones on the polished thinspoke center caps. I don't have much time on them yet, but they look good and at that price I couldn't pass them up.

Here's a pic - not the best, but the best I can do when the car is in the garage and at this time of night.

Actually it is just a flat vinyl emblem. Took a pic from a catalog of the '03 C5 emblem to a local sign shop and they created the decal for me. Had them size it so it would fit on the center cap.

You are not the first person to have done that. Is it cheaper?
