But, I will comment on the auto and drag racing. My 2000 SS a4 with a PI2800 would run 12.5000 all day. I could cut 1.70 60' times. 306 RWHP 3600 lbs car.
In my mind there is no queston that a auto with a good stall willl win every time at the drags.
[QUOTE]Drag racing is fun, but why buy an independent rear suspension car built with 50/50 weight distribution, running wheels and tires on all four corners built for cornering, with big sway bars, stiff shocks with virtually no weight transfer, big brakes for stopping repeatedly, and then talk about an automatic for drag racing. Something just doesn't add up. Save your money, buy a straight axle something with an auto an enjoy. At the Birthday Bash in BG this year, Danny Popp won the tuner shootout, which was a combined drag event and autox, with a Z06 set up for the autox event which he won. After finishing second in the drag event on his way to the overall win, he said that anyone can drive in a straight line. The Z06 is built for those that like to turn. :D :chevy [/QUOT
There aren't to many places to road race this car, so an optional auto would be nice.

A 4l60E can only handle so much HP (actually Torque). I don't think it'd handle a ZO6 too long. Probably cost too much $$$ to put a 4l80e in. Plus it'd probably be too much weight (just a guess).
How does the Generals Automatic hold up under a Lingenfelter/et al horsepower/torque then??? Hmmmmmmm???
The autos do just fine connected the
MONSTER TORQUE OF THE TRUX???
HOGWASH!!! :chevy

Good point, ... don't get you panties in a wad.
But read the fine print below (i.e. the pesky little *):
*Includes heavy duty transmission rebuild. Some applications may benefit from a higher stall torque converter. Please ask your salesperson for details and prices
