Hello all, I'm looking for a great all around tire for my '03 Z. I do some drag racing once a month or so and its mostly a cruising car - stop light to stop light. I was debating between the Nitto NT05 and the BFG KDW 2 since they offer the 275/40/17 - 295/35/18 combo. I don't want a drag radial because I might get caught in a rain storm here and there. I was also a little leary of the mileage of the NT05's from what I've read they're only good for ~10,000 miles which seems a little low.
I'm running the nt05's in 275/40/17 & 295/35/18, very happy with them. Car is mainly a weekend car, driven year round unless there is salt or snow on the roads in the winter. Fantastic warm weather traction and handling, so-so in the rain, traction not that great below 40 degrees. For the price they are one of the best tires for the stock wheels. I have not run with them at the strip but in warm weather I would bet they would hook pretty well for a non dr.
