Thinking About Buying a Z06....Diagnostics Question
It's a 2001 for sale by someone who, judging from the fact the only post of theirs that shows when I check out their profile, only recently got on CF just to sell the car. Not a problem all by itself, but I like to know as much as I can.
Anyway, it's got the 10-PCM P0803 code showing, which the owner says is for the 1-4 upshift. I guess this means that it's been disconnected so the tranny acts like a regular manual rather than force the upshift at slow speeds?
Also, when looking at the Youtube video he posted, the check engine light is on. Would the 1-4 upshift thing cause this, or is there another problem possibly? In the video, the guy ran through the trouble codes on the deal on top of the steering column (that's a cool feature my C4's don't have), and nothing else showed up.
Any help at all would be appreciated, as this guy certainly has the car priced right and I'd be willing to fly to California to get the car if it's a deal. Also, if you're not comfortable posting out here, you can also PM me. And finally, if you know of anything else I should be on the lookout for, I'd appreciate it. C4's are the newest Vettes I've had and I'm really not up on the C5's.
