It is funny how you forget the strongpoints of different cars. I have been in my Vipers so long I forgot why I liked Corvette. Today I took my Z06 to find a birthday gift for my 7 year old. Along the way I happened upon a yellow 2003 Cobra with dealer plates. Now I suppose it was a sales person driving with no more driving skill than my grandmother, but he started it. He tried to hang on a twisty section of SR 10, I pulled him fairly easily on the occasional straight, but he nearly put it over an embankment on one corner. In my rear view I could see him enter the corner, and the outside front seemed to dive a little deeply, guess that cast iron block is a force to be reckoned with. He must have mashed a little early on the accelerator because his tail stepped out and came around on him.. Guess he musta turned off his traction control too. To credit him he did manage to keep the car on the road, facing the other direction. I continued on to Toys R Us, bought my daughter a 24" BMX bike, pulled the handles bars and front tire and slid the whole thing in the trunk. I drove home, and still averaged 28 mpg. Now I remember why I liked Corvettes.
