I have a 2002 C5 Corvette and would like to put in a new stereo that has bluetooth so I can talk on my phone. I'd also like to add navigation. I've attached photos of my current stereo and speakers. They are saying that I need something extra for my Bose system. I live in SoCal - south Orange County. Where should I go to purchase and have them install? Without breaking the bank? :-)
if you haven't figured it out yet, the size of the "stock" unit is an odd ball one. it's not single din and it's not double din. depending on exactly what you want to do, you have several choices. you can get a single din head unit with a flip out screen for the nav (and use a "filler" bezel to take up all the extra space around the unit) or you can go all the way and have a double din bezel modification done (i suggest you contact dennis at double d mods a forum supporting vendor who is very helpful) and buy a standard double din unit with all the features you need. pioneer, kenwood and others make nice units. you will find positive opinions on just about all of them here at the forum. if you wish to use your stock bose speakers and amp, there is a harness that will allow you to do that (the bose stuff operates on a completely different "standard" voltage wise than most other equipment) to make it easier to accomplish. i went with a bezel mod from dennis and a pioneer head unit with nav, satellite radio and bluetooth. it even has the rear camera capability (which i chose not to use). i kept the bose speakers etc as i'm not that big an audiophile and chuck berry and little richard sound just fine to me with what i have, lol. i have never looked back, lol. get in touch with dennis he is a great person to speak with as far as knowledge and he is one of the last of the true customer comes first type guys.

I also agree Dennis is probably the way to go if your not going to go to your local sound shop, however it all depends on what you want and what you want to spend.
Dennis did a double-Din for me a few years ago for my Alpine 505 and I'm very happy with it but I also added phone, Nav, amp and sub and a double din conversion is not a walk in the park.
I would like to go double din also but honestly, Im impatient and dont think i could wait 4-5 weeks for the bezel to be done! ill probably go with a single but im in the market at this moment as well. Ill contact Dennis after the holiday
I was in the same dilemma last year and bought a single din Kenwood (from Dennis, along with bose adaptor and mounting kit). I use my smartphone's GPS which comes through the Bluetooth radio. This saved me from having to buy a unit with a flip screen just to get nav...Pandora and many other apps will work the same way.
I then did the speaker upgrade to the doors and rears and am overall happy with the sound, and have all the features I need and did it on a budget.

I was the same way.. Impatient. But decided to send my bezel off to Dennis. In the mean time I fabricated a bezel from cardboard, painted it satin black and help me through the weeks until the bezel and my new system came. The cardboard bezel was good enough to make the car seem to be complete. I could not have driven the car with the console area torn apart. You could use black fabric to conceal the lack of bezel enclosure. The Bose radio will still work without the bezel. So you have not lost anything. Those few weeks fly by quickly.. and the anticipation is also a buzz.

What you don't want to do is make the mistake of buying just something, instead of buying what you really want. its a waste of time and money.

Sorry, this is the only pic I have as the car is covered up.
For cheap, easy, effective you can't beat it. The thing sticking out of the front is a Thumb Drive, actually shaped like a thumb that stores my music. Install is about 1 hour and Dennis can prewire it so that you only need to splice 1 wire under the pass floorboard...If you choose to upgrade the speakers that also took about an hour for all 4.
That looks pretty good. I would like the ashtray part to actually be a cubby or pocket... I have nowhere to put my phone!
Where did you get that shift ****?

I got it on ebay, Mfgr is sick speed. You need the adaptor and then you can choose any of the shift *****.
Mine was made by DD Mods as well. Speakers are Kicker KS 6.5" separates. Rears are coax. Kicker ZX 350.4 amp, ZX 400.1 amp, 1 farad cap, and Kicker CompVR 10" sub in a stealth box under the carpet.
