Default What tires are available?

I run Toyos on my Z06 and need new tires soon but it looks like there are virtually no options anymore. What model tires are still manufactured in stock sizes?

The only thing listed on Tire Rack in the exact stock sizes is Bridgestone RE760 which is a decent tire, but there's no reason you can't go with any number of tires in slightly different sizes.

What other sizes fit on the stock rims with the same aspect ratio?

Just look at the overall diameter and the recommended rim widths. The stock tires are 25.4" tall in the front on 9.5" wide wheels and 26.1" tall in the back on 10.5" wheels. Tons of different tires will fit. Anything around like 25-26" tall in the front and either the same height or a little taller in the back works just fine.

Are you looking for low price, high mileage, high grip, or track use?

I have Nitto 555's up front (275/40/17) and Nitto NT05's in back (stock size - hard to find!) The NT05's really help to hook up the rear....

Low price high grip but suitable in the rain. That's just how the Toyos were. Don't need super long lasting since I don't drive it much. Have run Nittos before but felt the Toyos were better.

Continental DW is a decent tire that's cheap and good in wet. They have the stock 295/35/18 size for the rear and you can run 275/40/17 on the fronts just fine. I'd run the 275's for a little more grip.

That's most likely what I'll be putting on my car for street tires this summer.

NT05's here in 275/40/17 & 295/35/18. They're a great tire for the money for the stock wheels. Fantastic grip on dry road, handle great, ok in the rain. Don't have a lot of miles on them yet but hear they wear pretty well for a performance tire.

Ran them for 2 years at the track before I switched to R compound. Great dual purpose tire at a great price.

Yeah, the NT05's are great. Not all Nitto's are alike, Invo's generally are not favored..

sadly, there are no choices that do what your toyos did anymore

the conti dw is a good street tire but the front 275 is chubby and the 265 hasn't been sold in the US since 2011

nt05 is probably the best street performance choice. sucks in rain, isn't that great in the wet but the 275 is short and the 295 tall making a near oem split

you can also get the michelin ps2 in 295/265 but the rear is the porsche n4 compound

the re760 looks nice on the car but they limit performance. not a good tire at the limit and they have a "comfort" sidewall which slows down steering response

best bet is 19/18 wheels and 295 30 19 and 265 35 18 in the michelin pss. that's a really nice match with the stock car.

Hmm. It looks like the Nittos are the closest I'm going to get to the Toyos...that or the Bridgestones. I would like to stick with the stock sizes, though...

I am still running the Goodyear F1 Supercar tires, and they are still available from Discount Tire.

Falken carries the OEM front size for a very affordable price. I have them on my front and they are definitely grippy enough.

Yeah, I saw that; the thing that just kills me, though, is that I like my Toyos better, and they were half the price of the OEMs.

you will be happier with the nt05 if you like a performance tire. the re760 is a comfy driver tire but the limits are low and it's not the easiest tire to drive at the limit. it's like grip grip gone. the soft sidewalls that give the comfort ride also numb steering response and overall feel.

the nt05 actually looks right on the car as that 275 isn't as chubby as something like the dw

or there is the expensive ps2, but, like i was saying, the rears only come in the porsche n4 compound and i'm unsure how it would pair with the conventional compound in the front

Does anyone have photos of the Continental DWs in 275 on front with the wheels on the car?

Just wondering if they look like they stick out beyond the fender lip too much. The fronts with stock 265s already look to stick out a little more than the rear 295s do.

I'm also curious to hear feedback on "tracking"...the tires are already wide enough in front where if the pavement isn't grooved in the same direction as the road, the car tends to want to follow the grooves.

You could run 255's on the front if you want, they would still fit pretty OK on the wheels. Might be worth going down to 285 in the rear if you did that though.
