Default i'm back

sold my c6 "jake" last august, and just picked up a c5 z16 with only 15k mi. just like new...except no stripes, and no stock polished wheels..i will probably get the stripe kit in a few months, and if anybody has a set of the orig. polished z wheels...i am interested..the rest of the car is totally stock...car #511. it runs great just did the 300 mi trip home in it, from AZ..
glad to be back...

Those wheels aren't already polished?

Car looks great, IMO it looks better without the stripe!

If it is a Z16, How come it doesn't have the CE/Z06 stripes? Did the PO removed them?

I also have no stripes after fresh paint. Last time I checked I was told that they were being DISCONTINUED and passed on a complete set from a dealer for $700. There is a aftermarket set that you can find online around $350. that is close to the originals but does not have the words carbon fiber on the hood portion of the stripe, I may get a set later on. When I got my Z16 both front wheels had bad curb rash so I got a set of polished replacements from Bob @ House of wheels about a year ago for $250. each. They are still boxed up for now, my plans were to repair the originals and play around with a painted/polished color scheme using the base color of the Z16 since the polished are clear coated anyways. Pic from Dirty 30 post of the Z16 he just got.

Yep, after the C5 Z06 my C6 felt too much like a boulevard cruiser and I went back to the 2004 C5 Z06 too. The Z06 gives me a thrill every time I drive it. The only thing I miss about the C6 are the heated seats for my back. Welcome back!

Even polished wheels are too much bling for a Z06.
I would just get a set of the painted Z06 wheels.

Car looks great without stripes, buy a stripe kit and stash it for the nest guy.

Bud, what is your reason?

I met a guy at the track last year who has two C5 Z06's and one ZR1. He told me the C5Z is the most fun to drive. Crazy!
