Your Best of 2013...
With 2013 in the rear view mirror what were your Corvette related highlights of the past year.
It could be anything:
Mods over the past year
Best memory in your C5 of the year
Personal best at the drag strip or road course
Road trips/Favorite road trip of the year
C&C's or your favorite Corvette/Car get together
Maybe you got your first Corvette this year
Maybe you won your 1st show or 1st place of many

Really anything Corvette Related that stood out to YOU during 2013.
The next part is what were your favorite pictures that you took of your car or others over the past year?
I'll start. 2013 was the most eventful year for me when it comes to what I did with my Corvette. Granted I have only had the car for 2 years, it was a pretty good year!! It was used in a family wedding. Took multiple cruises with fellow Forum Members as far North as Boothbay Harbor in Maine and as far South as Tennessee. Not to mention getting to know some of you over social media and in person. I hope to continue that in the new year and meet even more members!
This was my year in a nut shell:
Open House Cruise at East Coast Supercharging. Made a long weekend out of it travelling from Boston for the get together:
Vettes to Vets at the local VA Hospital. 400+ Corvettes!
3,000+ mile road trip down the East Coast that included stops at The Tail Of The Dragon, Blue Ridge Parkway, (And numerous amazing roads) NCM, Bowling Green, and Carlisle.
My Vette inside the NCM to have the Engine Covers signed.
And a few of my favorite shots from this year.
TOTD Romp:
And the best part of it all was simply being able to drive it everyday!!

Went back to Bloomington Gold after missing it for the past four years.
Met a few forum members over the course of the year.
Did a few appearance mods to the car (mainly engine compartment bling).

Drove the Z06 to the NCM for the Bash in April.
Saw the C7 in person for the first time at the Bash. Mine will be this color.
Won best original Corvette with my '66 at a show in October.
Had the transmission rebuilt in the Z06 in November. No pics of that but now I can use 4th gear without grinding.

It would be when I finally got the Vette. I had always had Ford Mustangs and Lightings but like the Vette. So got a wild hair and got one. Never look back now.

Being invited to participate in the "Fairway Drive", one of the opening events for the inaugural Pinehurst Concours d Elegance. It was a great lineup of Corvettes and Porsches on the first fairway of Pinehurst #3 golf course. Unfortunately, we had some light showers that morning, and some of the Vette owners were weenies, afraid to get their cars wet, and the Porsches outnumbered us by more than 2 to 1, but still a great day.

- Mayhem Motorsports in Raleigh upgraded my shocks, sway bars, spark plugs, stainless steel brake lines and dyno-tuned my car.
- I bought a helmet and attended NCCARs Open Track Day as well as two events at VIR: their Open House and a Hyperdrive.
- I met three forum members, with one of whom I attended a Mayhem Motorsports sponsored drag race.
- I put 10,000 more miles on my daily driver, including tours of Daytona Int’l Speedway and Charlotte Motor Speedway!

I took a 1700 mile road trip to the Corvette Museum and then to the Tail of the Dragon.
The two mods I liked the best were to add C6 Z51 sway bars and new Hankook tires.

Visited the Corvette Museum for the first time earlier this year, was a hoot!
Many fun drives thru rural Wisconsin and some beautiful fall drives.
Looking forward to what 2014 brings!

Honestly, I'm glad to show 2013 the door. We lost a parent and we have another one who has been battling lung cancer for over 15 months and although we're happy she made it through the holidays, we are expecting another loss soon.
As a result, I didn't get to enjoy too much butt-time in my Corvette this year, however I hope to make up for it in 2014 with some extended road trips and shows.
Although the planned mods on my soon-to-be 10 year-old vert are pretty much done, I guess the highlight of 2013 was that I was able to finally mod my garage as I find it to be a great stress relief when I keep busy with a side project.
I've since started my new project...The mancave home office. Now that I work full time out of my home, I've already installed some custom shelving and desk space, now I just need to finish up with some electronics, i.e. flat screen, wall mount TV and some new furniture.
