My very slowly leaking drivers rear tire started losing more than 10 psi over the course of a few days, so I decided to get rid of the goodyears on it for some continental extreme contacts. Ordered them and they're on the way, but in the meantime I have been burning the last little bit of life out of the goodyears. Just wanted to post on here about how impressed I am with this cars composure and abilities compared to my 350z. My old z would pitch and buck around turns, where as the z06 seems to go exactly where I want it to, exactly how I want it to in spite of the extra torque and lighter weight. Also, leaving the car in competitive driving mode gives you a car that wants you to have fun, and really isn't that noticeably intrusive at all. My 350z stability control made hard driving feel like you were riding with a drivers ed teacher who had control of the brake if you had the slightest amount of fun. Look forward to posting back with a review of the tires, happy holidays everybody, get out and enjoy your vettes!
I got the Conti DW for my car, good tires.. No complaints. 275F/295R
I also did a little less aggressive alignment so they wear much better then the stock setup and i dont get wheel hop at low speeds in the front anymore.
Just got them installed and first impressions: incredible tire for the money!
Even in this relatively cool weather I got traction in first gear. With the goodyears punching it in first meant spinning if the temp was below 65. Very happy with the ride quality too, smooth and quiet. Didn't get the chance to throw it into any turns yet, but as of right now I would have a very hard time going back to anything else when the time comes again.
