right side was blowing cool air but not cold and drivers side was blowing hot, also it doesnt seem like its switching vents when i try to,the code for the drivers side blend actuator popped up, so i switched it not both sides blow cool but not cold.
any solutions
by the way i checked the hoses near the PCM they were attached and didnt seem to have a hole or collapsed
If you clear the code you should hear the actuator opening and closing. You should also feel the temperature go hot then back to cold. If you do not hear the actuator opening and closing then that is where I would start. If it opens and closes you are probably low on refrigerant. When I had the cool air out the right side and warm air out of left drivers side I changed my actuator with a brand new one and still had the problem. I had a friend check the refrigerant level and he said it was good. I was at my wits end so I brought it to the dealership for a diagnosis. Refrigerant was 1/2 pound low. System was charged and it blows cold. I have a small leak in my compressor. It will hold a refrigerant charge for about 15 months the it will start blowing cool out passenger vents and warm out drivers side vents. Bring it in for a recharge and I am good for another 15 months. Eventually when I can afford it I will have the compressor changed.
I had a similar problem a couple winters ago.
Drivers side blew cold air and passenger blew warm.
My wife would be warm while I froze
I tried the removing the fuse trick and resetting the codes.
I ended up having to pull the actuator door module and replace it.
It has been a few years and I can not remember the exact details but it did not take too long. I got the instructions for how to do it from a forum member.
I did remove the driver seat so I could get under the dash better.
That was only because I have a bad back and am not a small person.
A normal sized person should have no problem
i replaced the drivers side blend door actuator and now im not getting codes, but i notice the ac compressor turns on but the air is not cold its just like a fan blowing air, also the lines to the ac are not cold, they are not sweating, is that a sign of a bad compressor ?
Thank you
