Hi Guys,

Background; in New Zealand we have to get 2 permits to allow us to register a imported car. In this case with the Corvette under 20 years old, we need to apply for a LHD permit and a Special Interest permit.
This requires submitting spec sheets with the permits for Production make figures, performance figures, only built in LHD (RHD are conversions, not standard out of the factory), and any write-ups from car magazines. That the car is a high performance sports car.

I have been searching the web and have been able to get printouts of production figure for my 2002 Corvette (14,760), some performance figures, but would like to get official data of 0-60MPH, 1/4 Mile (if possible).
Is there any conformation that says that the 2002 Corvette only came out in LHD?
And if anyone has a copy of a write-up from a car magazine they would be willing to scan and email me, I'd be grateful.

I need to be pretty smart onto this, as they only provide 500 permits each year and I don't want to wait and get left behind.

Maybe there is other NZ forum members on here that have already gone through this, and would be willing to help out.
Once I get mine done I would be able to then help others out down the line.

Member 'outlawtorn' is from NZ as I recall, and just went through this process.

 

Try a Google search on the 2002 Corvette and I'd bet you can get some hits on car magazine articles. And try a site like www.corvetteactioncenter.com for stats on the car.

I think I have enough links and information to send to the NZ Transport Agency for my permits.
Hopefully they will approve and send me the 2x required permits for the next step in the process of getting my C5 on the road, and I can take it for a long drive.
