I have a 2001 Quicksilver metallic ZO6, excellent, stock condition with 64k miles. Was asking 20k, now down to 18k and no action. Car is immaculate but it seems like the price for this car took a serious nose dive in the last 6 months. Is it because of the new Corvette?
Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.
I bought my 02Z 2 years ago with 24K miles, 2 owner, totally stock for $24K. I thought it was a little steep, but it was exactly what I was looking for. $18 doesn't sound unreasonable, but I know I don't have the money I used to either and betting many others are in the same boat with this economy.... Good luck with the sale.
The few 01s that have sold here lately have went 12 to 15k maybe a bit higher mileage then yours. I know there was a QS 02 the guy would take 12 for but was 100k miles plus.
Black 02 went cheap yesterday Stutzvette was the seller.
It's a new year, the C5Zs have been holdin steady over the past few years and the time has come with a new model for all models to drop a fair amount. C 6s have dropped a bunch in the last year
I had been following the 06zs for the past year nos and last year this te it was tough to find a decent one under 40k, there down in the 32/34k range now , and I seen a few on eBay in the high 20s.
Come next year those 06zs are gonna be in the high 20s and the C5 Zs are not goin to be able to compete in the 20 k range.
Just my opinion, but it's what I see following what actually sells .

Since the C5 is two generations removed now, it did indeed take a hit when the C7 debuted. Also, your trying to sell a Corvette in the dead of winter where a good portion of the nation is seeing anything but, ideal Corvette weather. It's definitely a buyer's market for used Corvettes. Hang on to it, and wait till Spring to give it another go if you have your heart set on selling it. Good luck

I don't necessarily think your price is out of line, but for those of us not in the south where the weather is good all year around, it's hard to think about buying a Vette right now. Spring would be a much better time to sell and get a better price.
up here in everett its nasty year round with a day or 2 of sun a month but once summer hits its long sunny days of 80 degrees. the car prices around here go all over the place
Yeah wait another 3 to 4 months and see how that works. I didn't see C5Zs rebound last spring, and the FRC I bought owner dropped a grand cause he couldn't even get a offer at 11.5.
It's just the way it'd goin right now, guys are lettin there cars go, prices are dropping, C5 guts want to move up to C6 as there's freakin 08zs In the 30s now as they dump um to move up to C7s.
All these guys with there highly modded C5s wanting 30 plus are wantin C6s I've never seen so many big builds for sale like right now.

lot of money up there. seattle is typically one of the higher markets in the country

FRC's are cheap everywhere except here
one dealer i know picked up a nice, clean 104k mile 99FRC for 8800 at auction the other day. that car is getting a detail and listed on the lot for 10,9
there's a BIG difference in price between the FRC and z06 even at auction. had that been an 01 z06 it would have still pulled 13.5 to 14

condition is so big on these cars. some of the 5+ owner cars i've looked at are just rough and i wouldn't pay 10k for even if it does book higher
the ones a guy wants are the always garaged, all stock, 1-2 owner elderly cars with a few miles on them. those are often excellent values.
i remember back when i bought my z i actually had the chance to buy a 00 frc for 7,000 and didn't just because of condition. some cars that sell cheap, sell cheap for good reason
I'm with ya race bum, FRCs are cheaper then the Z, it's why I'm in one, I prefer the body style and all.like anyone we all would prefer lowest mileage, best deal we can find. I'm just saying that the days of 20+k C5zs are commin to a end. Sure the super low mileage garage queens are goin to retain a higher value but 50k mile cars are not.
There goin to still command mid to High teens for some time to come, but that's it IMO. You know as well as anyone the actual cars that are sellin , not what's bein asked that move .
As soon as the C7Z06 comes to market watch and see how many C6zs come up for sale and then the C5 guys moveon up as well.
Not tryin to be negative it's just how it goes, cars depreciate, especially when a new model year appears, and another year goes by.

I wouldn't even consider taking 11,000 - 20,000 for my Z ... No F..king way .... I don't care what they it's worth , I know what it's worth to me ....
Good luck man

Thing is, if you are trying to sell.. it doesn't matter whats it worth to you but what its actually worth. Duh.
