Default ZO6 Vert

Hello all. I am looking at an 04 vert that has been converted to a Z06. It has a LS6 and all the cosmetics of a Z06 including seats and wheels. I am wondering if the stock running gear of the vert will hold up to the power of the LS6. Has anybody heard of a LS6 being put in a regular C5 before. Thank you beforehand on any replys.

I have since found out that it is a Z06 that was turned into a vert. So no probs about the tranny or rear.

well....you've probably already done this, but verify that the 8th character in the VIN is an "S" and that it matches the VIN on the frame right behind the passenger side headlight.

if so, buy it and enjoy it, I have since I found my vert'd z0 in '07.

but be prepared for the skeptics and "purists" who will challenge the legitimacy of the car's true origins.

good luck and PLEASE post up pics.

I'll bet it's a legit con-verted ZO6; because who would go to such lengths to create a clone including the crappy stock seats.

If its a 2004 Machine Silver Z06 Convertible then I may know the original owner.

Please show pics when you can.

Thanks for the input. The car is at motorcarsinternational.com if anybody wants to view it. The dealer says it was wrecked at 2,100 miles and was converted then. Salvage title. Already having some trouble finding ins. for it

Eh, IMHO forget that unless it's a RIDICULOUS steal of a deal (ie, less than they're asking)

Legit, clean titled Zs can be had for less than $20k all day long

It looks great and the miles are nice, but a salvage title is a huge black eye and not worth it, to me at least
