Default Tire choices

What tires do you like to run on stock z06 c5 wheels? I want a tire that will be ok if it rains but great dry traction as well. I have been looking at the NITTO Nt05 anyone run these and do you like them. I do not want a drag radial.

Running them now in 275/295 combo, love them, just avoid freezing temps. I finally got some heat in mine yesterday, on clean pavement, man they GRIP.

As far as treadwear, way too early to tell.

Best tire for my budget, and needs.

If i go to the "square" setup ill go Michelin PSS, but thats at least a year down the road.

New Z06 owner here and just put a set of the NT05s on in 275/295 fitment. So far so good, though I live in the PNW so the weather hasn't given me a chance to exercise them much yet.

Thanks,
-Roger

I wonder why GM installed 255/40ZR17 tires on a 9½" wheel. My C4 also has 9½" wheels, but they installed 275/40ZR17, and 285/40ZR17 rear.

Will it increase performance by installing 275/40ZR17 tires?

Regarding the rears, it's a bitch to find variety on 305/35ZR18s.

They didn't, they installed 265/40ZR17s on a 9.5-inch wheel

It won't hurt; I'll be doing 275s front/305+ rear when my current setup wears out, although I plan on running at least 18/19 wheels, if not 19s all around or 19/20.

OP, I recommend a search

Tires are one of the most regurgitated topics in this section due to the rapid decrease in available options for performance tires in the factory C5Z sizes over the last couple years.

Was that the tires yours came with? If so those aren't the stock sizes. Stock fronts are 265/40/17 rears 295/35/18. Most people go with a 275/40/17 for the fronts when they replace them, there are few options in the stock size.

I put on the Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires on mine and they made a world of difference compared to the Goodyears that it came with.
