I do not like to be negative, really. I called NCM for a quote. It was way over what I pay now. My current policy is with Erie Insurance. I have full coverage with a $50 deductible, I pay $290 per year for the Vette. That's the truth. I have my three other vehicles, house, boat and umbrella also with Erie. That may have made the difference?

I've had NCM insurance since April or May and am quite happy with it, but I haven't experienced their policy skills yet.
I'm really hot to find out about the mileage rollover part.

How do they track mileage... I have classic policy on another car with limited mileage via American Modern Classic never been asked for mileage. Right now the vette is on a regular policy.

I've never been asked to prove how many miles I've put on my car. I'm limited to 1000 miles and typically put about 700-900 miles on a year. I was a bad boy this past year and put 1021 miles on my car, which is very unusual for me.

When signed up for NCM insurance they asked for a mileage statement, which I gave but will call them re the mileage rollover and 2.5X valuation for complete loss! I'm pretty sure that last one will up my annual premium.

Where can you get that kind of coverage ?
Yeah I think I have the 6K as well. I didn't drive that much this past year but it's nice to have a cushion in case this year I get a chance to put on some more miles and do a couple extra big trips so I don't have to worry about going over or something.

I believe I read it in an earlier post from this thread. I will reread the thread and search around a bit then call NCM but I'd bet they are closed tomorrow so maybe Tuesday.

But how does it work? Is this something that goes along agreed-upon value, or is it a totally different approach?

Thank you all for the very kind words! We only aim to please, and happy customers = happy Corvette Museum!

Honored to be able to protect your cars!! Righfully so, everyone is concerned with how a claim is handles. Testimonials are our best friend, so check out the links below:

Being that we are at the National Corvette Museum, owned by and operated by the museum, we have a major reputation to uphold. We wouldnt choose a sub-par company to use. My reputation and the museums is worth much more than that.

You win some, and you lose some! Thank you very much for the opportunity! It is greatly appreciated!

One HUGE difference is with us and a standard carrier is what will you get paid if you have a total loss? With your standard carrier you are at their mercy and typically that is book value at the time of the loss.

With collector car insurance, we have a contract price. That is the price you pay if you have a total loss.

Am I correct that mileage under NCM coverage is limited to a max of 3,000 miles annually or can we purchase higher mileage limits?

Almost a DD here + at least one run up Highway 1 to Monterey each year makes ours about 6,000+ miles each year.
We have a 6,000 per year mileage plan. Just as long as the car is kept in a locked garage, and not used for errands we are good...

I wish I had a garage...they would have charged me like $47/month.
We do require that all licensed drivers in the house have a daily use vehicle, and we do not insure vehicles used for errands. Wish you had a garage too! Thank you for the opportunity though!

Currently with State Farm and happy with them as I am able to remove full coverage during the winter with a phone call and reinstate full coverage in the spring with another phone call. Billed monthly so I don't have to be cutting any checks for other hassles with changes in coverage.

It seems to me that when I checked with NCM last summer I didn't have that flexibility!
We have monthly payment plans as well, we deduct it automatically out of a checking account or on a credit card. There is a $1 surcharge to exercise this option. We dont have the ability to suspend coverage in the winter, as our premiums are super competitive and we want to offer the best coverage year round. PLUS, what if you have a nice day and want to take your car out? Its a hassle on you.

We do require that everyone in the house has a daily use vehicle. We dont insure vehicles used for errands. We insure vehicles used for car shows, club events, parades and the occasional pleasure use.

We ask mileage once (at time of policy inception), any unused mileage rolls over to the next year. Think cell phone minutes and their rollover plan. If there is an accident we check mileage.

I myself wondered how the miles rolled. I was asked miles at sign up but not at renewal. Time of an actual claim makes sense.
