...is it possible to replace the plastic cable guides on the regulator assembly, or does the whole thing need replaced? The motor seems to be working fine but the cable quide broke. Thanks!
I have 2 that I bought when I thought my passengers side went out but it was just stuck. I never even opened the boxes. I can send it to you if you want?
I had the same thing happen. I kept the unit incase a motor ever goes out. But as far as I know, the entire unit has to be bought and replaced. Bummer........... Ecklers...

Do you mean 2 of the guides? I haven't pulled the old one out yet...are the guides removable and replaceable? Thanks!
Operating a window with slack in the cable (as when a guide breaks) soon damages things at the motor. You can replace a guide if you like to tinker, but don't be disappointed if it doesn't work.

The regulator is sold as a unit. I replaced the one on my 1998 Coupe two times with an aftermarket regulator. When the third one went bad, all within a few days, I got my money back and went to a factory unit. NO COMPARISON ! having said that, go on EBay. There are several Chevrolet Dealers selling factory regulators very reasonable on EBay. The regulator is very easy to replace. There's an outstanding video on YouTube that will walk you through it.
