M12 problems
I already posted up in the C5 General section looking for the best rebuild for the money, but I figured I'd post up here to see if anybody had any other suggestions for my issues.
I have a 2003 Z06 (late enough build to get the C6 fuel system) that I installed an MTI Six Shooter shifter and the Anti-Venom Mod into within the last month or so. The car currently has 20k miles and made 424rwhp in Phoenix in August or September. Saturday on my way to work, the car got stuck in fourth gear and no amount of pushing or striking would remove the shifter from gear. I limped it home and exchanged it for the bike, then went to work.
My research determined the usual causes to be a bent shift fork or a broken synchro key, both of which require a rebuild of the trans. Does anybody else have any other ideas for me to look into before I tear the driveline out? Also, I will be replacing my clutch (likely with a Mantic ER2) while the trans is out, so any information regarding doing this job on jack stands in the garage as an average Joe would be appreciated.
