I have an iPod adapter that is connected to my factory CD changer input that I've never had any problems with. It even skips to the next song on my iPod with the factory button.
Well my car sat in a body shop for a couple months after an accident and when I finally get it back and hook up my iPod again the radio wouldn't recognize it or do anything at all with it. (FM and CD still works.)
Any ideas? Do I need to reset the radio somehow or something?
Mine was acting up last summer. I pulled the HVAC controller out, reached behind the radio, and found that the iSimple connector wasn't fully seated in the back of the radio. It clicked in and worked fine after that.
battery went dead or low on voltage which sometimes causes this issue
simply disconnect it from the changer or pxhgm2 harness
set all dip switches to on
all to off
then 3 and 8 back to on
reconnect
problem solved
this goes for the same fix for someone who has the pxhgm4 harness and connection to the back of the radio..only difference is you have to remove bezel and radio for the simple fix.
Thanks for the good info. Coincidentally enough, I accidentally pulled and reset the fuse for the radio while doing some unrelated work, and the adapter is working fine now. Don't know if this is what fixed it though.
