engine cleaning
I have never been meticulous about under the hood cleaning on most of my other vehicles....occasional wipe down at some point when i spent time repairing something under the hood maybe. Some of you guys out there post photos of engine bays cleaner than an operating room! My question is what are some of your secret weapons and techniques used to maintain the bay? (short of total dismantling of course). I have always been leery of under hood electrical components and harsh cleaners and my knack for bad combinations of the two ever since I cleaned my dads old 72 pickup engine bay back in the day and it didn't start for 2 days. . .anyway, any tricks and warnings of things not to do are appreciated as i get ready to spend some time under the old bonnet in the next few weeks.
