Default Question about Ti exhaust !!

I have posted this question in the c5 general but I got no response
so I figured I should come in here and ask the Z06 owners they might know better !! I just got this Ti exhaust but I didn't install it yet, it looks like its in good shape, no dents just the usual blue discoloration on the tips, but I have noticed when I wiggle the tailpipes there is very minor play !! I don't see any cracks around the welds at all and you can't see it moving but I feel it !! what do you think ? Thanks guys..

Get the Ti exhaust mod done first, and have the tips looked at the same time.

So let me try to understand this.....the exhaust is NOT installed on the car, and when you wiggle it, it moves?

yes, I was trying to clean it the other day and the tailpipes have a very slight movement it seems, its weird cause I can just feel it but when you look at the welds it seems perfect and no cracks !!

Hm. No movement at all on my '04 z's Ti exhaust or tips. If you can't see or feel anything, there's probably no reason for concern. If you can't spot it wiggling while the exhaust is off, doubtful you'll notice anything after its installed.

Maybe im just being picky for no reason cause I just checked them again and for sure I see no movement at the welds I think its coming from inside the muffler ( hope im making sense here ) it feels like the tailpipes go deeper in the muffler and its not just a pipe welded to the muffler !!!

Are you saying the pipe that goes into the muffler has some flex?
Maybe the weld is solid but the wall of the muffler is flexing, which could mean the pipe is lose inside the muffler.

Don't know where you live, but find someone that can weld Ti...its not easy but most any big city has some peeps, check out Hotrod/Racing shops. Have them do the Ti mod, and repair the loose pipe.
