Default Trunk Divider

Just brought an 02 EB Z06. Who makes the highest quality trunk divider? Where is the best place to buy one?

Thanks,

John

I have one of Andy's Z06 Parts Partition and I am really happy with it. It's nice and think and looks great. It's easy to remove if you want the space for something or when you head out to the track.

I'ts also called a frc partition.I's a panel that divides the truNk up.It encloses
the cabin and cuts down on a lot of the noise.I have one in my car and I love
it.You can hear the stereo if you want.Less fatigue on road trips.I also have
cover for the center compartment that helps as well. :seeya

I made my own, both for cost and "quality reasons." I went to a local craft store and bought a six inch thick, six foot by two foot piece of light greenish white foam rubber. I cut, taped, and fitted together cardboarrd pieces to make a template of the shape of a divider, then traced it on the foan, cut it with a breadknife, trimmed and fitted it. Then painted it with "charcoal grill paint" which turned out to match the carpet color better than black spray paint.

I took some black vinyl and cut and taped it along the top of the partition, then got a piece of trim at Home Depot, some of this plastic fake wood trim, in this case crossseciton like angle iron, about 1/2 inch per side, and cut that for the edge, paited it black.

What I have now is a five inch thick partition that sites under the rear window and seals the trunk off. That is thicker than any of the partiions I saw for sale. The car is a bit quieter. AC has less volume to cool, too. But mainly, I like the fact that at six inches thick, it has created a "shelf" under the rear window -- and I'm a traditionalist who thinks coupes should have a trunk divider and a flat surface under the rear window. \

And its removeable. Total cost less than $50.

Got mine from Andy at Z06 parts.com couple of days ago, it looks great, fits great and really makes a big difference in the road noise, much quieter now. Also the trunk now looks like a trunk instead of an opening to the back of the seats.

Search this site for "partition" and you'll get more info than you ever need....
