I have a 99 c5 and I have it tuned and have a cold air and I recently build the tranny. I bought some texas speed long tube headers with mid pipes and since I want to install them what do you guys think on going with the long tubes mid pipes and X pipe with stock mofflers? Would it still work ? Would it be too much restriction? Opinions welcome

I'd probably do the whole package if it were my car (even it you had to pick up a used set of aftermarket mufflers). But you certainly can stick with the stock mufflers if you want or if cash was an issue.
Yes for now I would like to install them with the stock exhaust and ofcourse later on I will go with some magnaflow etc exhaust.. just wanted to know if it would work.. dont want anything too loud ...
I've heard them with stock mufflers. They sound stock at an idle and light acceleration. A tad louder at WOT and heavy load. You'll still feel some power gain, but like other mentioned it's a little choked off.

So ill be ok on going that way right... later on im going with a catback
Will work fine. Stock Cam/Heads the stock mufflers will be fine. you might be giving up a little HP up top but will work fine. I would also agree if you come accross a set of stock C5Z Ti mufflers then scoope them up, you will gain a little sound, performance and looks while dropping some weight (they are super light). otherwise you might look to go aftermarket down the road. Should notice a difference but i doubt it will be a big one (mostly sound). Might consider a bypass mod on the stock stainless mufflers, will make it louder but flow a little extra and should only cost maybe $100.
Bypass mod (these are stock Ti, but can do to base mufflers too)
