Help getting these decals off
Dose anyone have a good idea of how to get this silver decal stuff off the inside of the letters? It started chipping a while ago.

I hear a lot people use WD40, I would try goo be gone and some Q-tips or some kind of soft plastic trim tool/ tooth brush, than a cleaner wax and re-wax.

Either of the two methods mentioned above would work. Good luck.

Thanks for the ideas, I will give them a try. I don't think I will put anything back inside the letters.

Do not use a toothbrush on your paint. The brush will scratch your paint.

Would NOT use a heat gun as you may bubble your paint.
I DO suggest a hair dryer.
Heat the area to be peeled and it should peel off easily. Use Goo-gone to clean residual gunk. Polish, wax.

Best advice you received right here. A heat gun is way too much heat.

I used a heat gun with a low and high setting on low and had no issues at all.

I successfully removed the rear bumper decals with the dealership name from all of my vehicles with a clay bar and detail spray. This may not be the same as what you are trying to do, but certainly a safe thing to try.

Goof Off could be another option if the heat gun won't work.

Hair dryer works best. Even gets those metal/plastic chrome letters the dealer puts on so you can advertise for him for free

Use a heat gun or hair dryer. Heat sufficiently that the individual letter is saturated with heat. When the correct temperature is reached the glue will come off without leaving any residue.
