Default What hood?

Hoping someone can help...anyone know who makes the best carbon hoods for C5/C5Z's? Seems the MCM hoods were held in high regard but they are not around any more?

Does anyone know who makes this hood? Is it any good?

Thank you kindly.

Yes, the MCM hood was an outstanding product , both in terms of looks and quality. I will say just based on that pic that hood looks pretty good on the car.

Hey guys I have a New CF ACP hood for sale. Its painted torch red with a flat black center, the under side is red with the carbon cleared. I had to change intakes so the hood will not work.

Thanks E.

That's the ACP carbon extract hood, and it's a very high quality piece, but not cheap. I personally find it the most striking and complimented exterior mod I have done.

Thanks! I think that's the hood I'll go for...but I'll leave the vents in carbon. I love the look of the exposed carbon myself.

Willing to pay more for a higher quality piece/hood.

Your vette looks sick man.

Thanks again.

You'll have to talk to ACP about that. They make the entire hood in real carbon, but it's an 'add-on' for them to leave the center section in exposed 'pretty/showable' carbon. I'm not sure if they can do it for the vents or not, but hopefully they can, it would look cool.

Per the picture in my original post...it seems they do/did offer their hood with exposed carbon vents as well.

I'm hoping/assuming it can be done.

I'm assuming yours didn't have carbon vents...

Didn't pick up on that the first time I saw it, hopefully that means they offer it.

And no, my vents were rough, raw carbon like the rest of the hood. Only the center section came out nice and pretty exposed weave after having a coat of clear applied to it.
