Default help!! Fuel system issues

Well this has been a long time in the making. I have a 03z (early model). A few months back I ran out of gas out of nowhere because the fuel gauge was reading half a tank. well I replaced the fuel sending unit on the driver side. needless to say im thinking the fuel level sensor is bad on the passenger side since the guage still doesn't work right, but here comes the weird part. when I ran out of gas I went and filled the car up. all it would hold was 11 gallons. ive always thought it was a 12 gallon tank so I thought nothing of it. please some one tell me why im reading the car has two 9 gallon tanks and ive only ever put 11 gallons worth of gas in it. ive had the car for 2 years and ive never been able to put more than 11 gallons in it. Plus the fuel filler neck issue pisses me off cause when I go out of town I can never tell when my tank is full.

I had a similar issue. My Gauge would read full and stop reading when the gauge got to about a 1/2 a tank. Ran the car nearly out of gas (gauge still read 1/2 tank). Went to fill up with gas and it only took about 9 or 10 gallons. A forum member suggested to keep cycling through bottles of Techron every time I filled up and it should fix it. It has helped BIG TIME. It took a few months but now I use Shell fuel only and use a bottle of Techron every other fill up and the problem seemed to subside. Hope that helps.

Probably have a clogged siphon pump in the passenger tank. That would cause the fuel on that side not to be used.

HI; Here you go ,Owners manual for a 2003 corvette z 06 , clearly states the fuel tank holds 18 gallons of fuel. LOOK IN THIS SECTION OF OWNERS MANUAL SECTION 5 - 92. HOPE THIS CLEARS UP THE AMOUNT OF FUEL THEY HOLD. TRY THE TECHRON IN THE TANK IT REALLY WORKS, IT WORKED FOR ME IN MY 01 AND MY 03.

Get some Techron and cycle two or three tanks full.

It will definitely help the corrosion and sticking float.

In fact try to stay with Chevron or Texaco gas that has Techron in the mix. Use premium fuel only, nothing below 91 octane.
