Default Stainless headers

Does stainless steel headers hold a lot more heat than regular steel and how about ceramic headers? Thanks for any info.

u will probably never have to change stainless again. Don't know which would hold more heat. Depends on collector pipe size, wider the inside diameter the faster it will flow.

If you are trying to keep the heat in the ceramic coating is supposed to help. Stainless headers are more about how long they last not heat. Since stainless will not rust like other materials. You can also have stainless headers ceramic coated.

I have ceramic coated stainless headers. I think they are cooler than non coated judging by how close I can hold my hand to them. I haven't put the fluke ir temperature gun on them

I have ceramic coated(inside and outside) coated headers on the vert. Been on for 8 years now and still look like new. I never saw the need for stainless ones. Ceramic coating does keep more heat inside the headers.
