I'm in the market for polarized Rx sunglasses and came across these http://www.corvetteeyewear.com/shop/index.php/c5.html. I like the C5 300 model which runs $300 delivered, but I searched reviews of these products and didn't come across any. I called their number and spoke with the owner Jack. Nice guy, told him that it's kinda hard buying glasses without trying them on and since these would be Rx lenses there's no returns. He said if I supplied him with a credit card number, he would ship me, at no cost, the frames to try on before adding the Rx lenses. Whether I liked them or not, I would just pay for the shipping back to him.
I know Double D sold some a few years ago, but couldn't find any reviews. My son tried talking me into Oakely's, but $370 just for the lenses plus another $100 or more for the frames is too steep for me. I was looking at a couple Ray-Bans which run about the same price as the corvette glasses.
My son said go for the corvette ones since their more unique than another pair of Ray-Bans etc. Anybody owned a pair of glasses from Corvette Eye Wear or have an opinion on owning a pair with the C5 logo, please step on in.

I have a set of polarized glasses and they filter out the heads up display in my other GM cars. Has anyone had this happen in the Corvette?
I specifically have never bought anything polarized because of concerns with viewing the Eotech on my M4, so yours isn't the first story I've heard of this
I am a cheap bastard, but my eyes are important. I go to Big 5 and see what fits and is on sale. My Revo's were $120 retail on sale for $30. I also have a light weight pair from New Balance that I use on the moto that were also on crazy sale. They carry Ray Ban and most other brands as well.
While the Z06 glasses would be kinda pimp, I have a huge head and need to try before I buy.
Let me see, Corvette sunglasses, Corvette socks, Corvette skivs... It is a slippery slope for some, I choose to stay away from the edge!

Yeah, I agree. I start feeling like those Harley guys with logo'd everything. But, then again, I'm am a "C5 LOVER" I mean, what's the difference whether its an Oakely, Ray-Ban, Serengeti, or C5 logo on the side of the glasses, at least the C5 logo makes it more personal. Although, I've seen plenty of C5 tattoos, now that's a slippery slope that I'm trying to stay away from

I have a C5 t-shirt
That's it
I've thought about getting a Corvette tattoo for years, but it wouldn't be a C5 emblem for sure
Yep .. I'm one of them. Have some great Serengeti polarized sunglasses but found that I can't see (or barely can see) the HUD with them on.
I've used Serengeti for many years. I have an older pair of "Drivers" that are not polarized and are GREAT. I bought a new pair of Serengeti that are polarized and I hate them. Don't buy polarized glasses for driving.

I don't have a problem with polarized glasses for driving - just can't see/read the HUD when I'm in the Vette ! Where I bought my latest Serengeti's they only had polarized and really didn't think about the HUD when I bought them - plus hadn't heard about this problem before. Have worn Serengeti's for years and love them - great glasses especially for the price compared to Maui Jim and Oakely !
I have some Maui Jim's and really like them. They are so light I have literally forgot I had them on several times.
Tried on a few Maui Jim's, liked the fit, but they are even more expensive than Oakely's, plus add on another $350-$400 for the Rx lenses If I didn't need Rx lenses, I would be buying much cheaper glasses.
I love polerized lenses but as stated above you cant really read the HUD if you have it. A trick tho, if you turn your head to the right a little the pollerized lense line up with the hud and you can read it..
Have had Rayban, Cheapy brands ect.. nicer glasses have better clarity and the lenses are more scratch resistant so they will last longer. Find some that you like the fit and the shape and be happy with whatever brand/looks fits the best.
I live in the UK but I love most things American hence I drive a Corvette. Although Ray-Ban are no longer made in the USA they're still an iconic American brand, therefore I only wear Ray-Ban shades. Great styles and quality in front of the eyes.
For HUD viewing problems, you might try giving your head a little tilt to the right or left as polarization filters light reflected on the horizontal plane,,,which is how the HUD reflects its light. Just a thought.
