Simple install, should take 1.5hrs taking your time. I did not use the stops. The factory one doesn't have them, and I'm not sure engine torque will change stop location relative to the housing.
Worst part, getting the gawdarn pin outta the top of the shift handle.
The neutral (side to side) springs are VERY stiff. It does seem to stop the infamous 2-5 upshift that is common with stock M6 shifters.
The only real way to evaluate it's performance is # of missed shifts at the track. I'm still in breakin, so I'll report when I do a few passes.
Wifey thinks it's too stiff. But she said she hasn't missed a shift yet, which is something she couldn't say with stock shifter. BUT, we are not reving past 4k yet.
I replaced my stock shifter with a Hurst yesterday... (thanks LAPD and Patches!). No problems! Very easy install. Mine took a little longer because I added a switch so that I control when my power antenna goes up and down. I put the small switch between the ashtray and the lighter and routed the wire under the carpet.
