Default best ground effects upgraids

After much reasearch,I've failed to get any race proven testimonials or data on bolt on air dams, skirts,or rear spoilers for my c-5 zo6.I know they improve downforce/lessen drag. But to keep clean asthetics for street, and improve performance on the track,a testimonial from an experienced racer would be invaluable for my goals. Please provide feedback.Gratefully,Mr.Zee

Default hi

hi, I saw your thread about info on ground effects kits, I put an apr front spoiler on my car, I really dig how it looks, apparently the downforce on the front end is about 400 pounds....I have 18" rims on the front of my car and notice that its very stable at over 100 mph....not sure about skirts or rear spoiler what they do....for that info I think my car would have to be tested at a wind tunnel....best of luck to ya....let me know if you have any questions.

Vinny,Sorry to take so long to get back.Alot goin on,(u know how it is).At least u got some stats on your front spoiler, sounds good! I purchased a front splitter by ATI(prochargers mother corporation),its clean, and has a large air intake, claiming to provide extra cooling. My biggist concern is tearing up the nose against a parking block.Probably front and back cameras will solve this.I have plans for it as I've cut out the front license recess, had a custom grid made, and it is going to provide additional cooling for a custom location for my intercoolers for the procharger p-1sc Ill be installing at the end of my long list of upgrades.I will research yours too.I also like the 18"front rim idea.In my dreams,I want to learn to autocross, and was told the taller rims was an important improvement. This makes since to me,as the 17's,w/40's profile in front is to provide some stock 'cush' I guess.Vince, Ive been pondering between a flush rear lip, like on the zr1,or a raised (5-6") wing, which willbe abit more of a statement, but on the suttle side.As of yet I've educated myself on the dif tween 'spoilers'and'wings, and their pros and cons, but as you mentioned,a wind tunnel and a lot of developmental research, would have to go in to a design,to be able to state performance facts with back up.It seems that all the styles out there, the only claim I could find was 'this spoiler provides style with function',a broad statement.Maybe if I can contact the manufacturer I could get some solid info.Respectfully, Mr.Zee

MTI in Atlanta is a great corvette shop for track/race cars. These guys build and test aero using a wind tunnel and track data. I have seen their C5/6/7 aero builds at their shop and on track....very fast!
