good morning to all...I have a 2000 vette coupe I bought new...sadly I have neglected it....my inspection is 4 yrs old, and in the last 4 yrs I have put on about 500 milrs, bringing it to a total of 16000 miles I have on it.....it has been garaged kept.... I replaced the tires 4 years ago, and just replaced the battery...besides having it inspected, I would appreciate it if you could tell me what else I should have done to it to get it back in sfape....I feel bad not having taken care of it...it is a beautiful car...so if you can help me out, and let me know what needs to be done, I would be very thankful.
Do a complete fluid change. Oil, trans and rear. Also have a brake fluid service done by someone that has a Tech II. The Tech II can exercise the ABS pump and remove all contaminated fluid from the pump. The moisture absorbed into brake fluid can and will sit in the pump and cause corrosion. When that happens the pump is history. Currently, to my knowledge, there are no replacements or anyway to repair them. I have mine done every 2 years, regardless of miles.
Coolant, power steering fluid, clutch fluid (if you have a manual tranny) should be added to the list above. Also look at the radiator hoses, and replace your serpentine and AC belts.

Then DRIVE IT OR SELL IT SO someome else will! Really nice car to just sit and rot. Just sayin,,,,
You dont really need someone with tech II to cycle the ABS pump. All you need to do to activate the pump is to raise the rear wheels off the ground and put it in gear. Once you get over a few mph, the car will notice the front wheels are going in a different speed than the rear and turn the ABS pump on.
